After a gap of over 25 years I decided to re-visit SS Her in 2011 as it's a favourite target for observers to whom I offer mentoring advice.
A wonderful short period (107d) Mira star with an extreme amplitude of 9.0-13.0v. My light curve will be fragmented because of the obstructions to my sky (observing window begins in May and ends in September), but it's great fun to monitor. Even with low sampling, the period is well determined from a low count of data (150 observations).
