KT Eri - Nova Eri 2009

 

The first Nova to appear in the constellation of Eridanus was discovered by K. Itagaki, Yamagata, Japan on Nov 25.536 UT, 2009 at magnitude 8.1C.  Pre-discovery images by Hermann Koburger show the Nova to be at magnitude 5.8TG on Nov 14.30UT and fainter than 7.5TG 24 hours earlier (aavso QL)
